A beautiful wedding

August 4th, 2012

Although the weather on the day was a shame. Despite the rain, the bride and groom didn’t stop smiling and it was a wonderful day.

I was lucky enough to be asked to shoot Anna and Mat’s wedding in early June at The Tithe Barn at Launton, near Bicester.

The bride and her party had stayed the night before at the Bignell Park hotel, and here are a few images from the wedding preparations:

A candid shot of a bridesmaid, and the bride’s sister, Jenny – I shot her wedding two years ago in 2010 and followed by a shot of the smiling bride. You’d never believe that she was being laced into her dress at this point!

Anna was due to travel to the wedding venue in an open-topped carriage. Unfortunately, like most of this year, the weather was not kind and as she left for the Tythe Barn the rain was pouring down but it didn’t stop her from smiling:

Anna was still smiling when she arrived at the Tythe Barn:

With this ring, and signing the register. The ceremony had been due to take place in the doorway of the barn, but obviously that wasn’t going to happen!

After the ceremony, Anna and Mat went out into the rain on a short carriage ride (did I mention that Anna loves horses?) and of course on their return she had to say hello and thank you.

After this, I went to get changed (after chasing the carriage, I was a little wet) whilst the wedding party enjoyed their meal and the speeches. We did get a very brief spell of sunshine, so I had another attempt at a group shot (although I prefer the one I took inside). The groom had requested a “Reservoir Dogs” poster style image – since there was nowhere without a plant (not complaining, the gardens were beautiful) I’ve colour popped this to try and give a similar effect.

We also managed to get the bride and groom on their own by the ruins for a more intimate shot and probably my favourite of the day.

The final shot of the evening was taken just after the first dance when the guests discovered the bubbles on their tables.
