The first May Bank Holiday

It’s the beginning of May, so I’m out and about with my mobile portrait studio again – unless it’s a very warm venue, I find people aren’t too keen to take their coats off and pose for a portrait in a drafty hall!

Also the first craft fair of the year for me – held on the Sunday at Wicksteed Park in Kettering. A beautifully sunny, warm day and lots of people came to visit the fair.

Of course, I always have to test the lights before allowing customers in:

I thoroughly enjoyed the day – meeting lots of old (and new) friends on the stalls. It was held in the newly refurbished Pavillion – it would make a marvelous venue for a wedding or special party.

Once again, the excellent face painter Jacqui was there – like me, she’s a member of the Rose of the Shires Craft Group on Facebook. This is her daughter:
